The straps are hung from the rigging. Usually you put your wrists into the loops but in recent years the art has developed and feet and ankles are also used. Straps used to be just the domain of strong male artists but they have developed to be an inclusive piece of equipment. We offer both straps classes and straps conditioning classes. The conditioning class focuses on strength moves and is for anyone who wants to focus on getting stronger for aerial! We also offer our regular Straps class, we suggest that participants have some aerial experience or have a reasonable amount of upper body strength. Tabbi left home aged 16 to perused her career and trained professionally at Bodywork Company Cambridge on the 3 year trinity level 6 diploma in professional dance. Graduating aged 19 she made the move to London to start her performing career. Along the way Tabbi started aerial classes at My Aerial Home and fell in love with the art! Her first professional contract started on cruise ships working as a dancer, magicians assistant and the silks artist. These days, Julia has been known to do not one, but several press ups and find serenity in hanging upside down on a hoop, silk, or trapeze. Whenever Julia hears someone say that they can't try aerial because they have no upper body strength, she tells them that the way to get upper body strength (and a muscly back to match!) is to start at the beginning and keep practising. Alongside being an aerialist, Julia is also an actress and immersive performer. Kezia trained for 3 years in dance at The Centre PAC, where she also gained DDE teaching qualifications through the ISTD alongside a performing diploma. It was during her third year that Kezia first tried aerial - silks - and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, her graduating year was also 2020, and so Kezia's performing career was a bit slow to start. She began working as a dancer in France, and went on to work with the company for a further two years as choreographer and principal performer, creating and directing 5 shows. Between these contracts, Kezia also worked as a dancer in Rhodes, Greece, for Chessington World of Adventures and LaplandUK, before remembering the love she had for aerial, and found My Aerial Home in February of 2023, completing a Dancer's Intensive course before spontaneously buying her own lollipop hoop to practice at home!
