My Aerial Home’s founder is Amanda Miles Robins who wanted to bring the joys and challenges of the Aerial Arts to Bromley, Beckenham and the surrounding areas.
Amanda Miles trained in dance at Arts Educational Schools and was a part of the London Festival Ballet and The Royal Opera. She has been a professional dancer and choreographer, a theatrical agent and is now a TV producer for all the major channels including ITV1, Disney and the BBC. Amanda has been an aerialist for over 10 years and has choreographed for Dance Umbrella and numerous professional aerialists as well as training aerial performers for P&O Cruises and is a regular performer in aerial cabarets. She is also a qualified yoga teacher.
Clare Midgley is a senior aerial tutor at The Circus Space, Britain’s most prominent circus school. She has been training aerialists for over 15 years and specialises in corde lisse and the aerial arts. Clare has created aerial pieces for herself and in collaboration with other artists and companies. She has a Post-Graduate Certificate in teaching from the Central School of Speech and Drama and has studied fitness training and Sports Science. Clare has been a guest tutor at many major circus schools around the UK and has taught and performed in both Spain and Colombia in South America.
Bo Ekstrand (Silk Sling) was trained in Acting and Musical Theatre at Mountview Theatre School in London. She has played leading roles in musicals such as Kiss Me Kate, Cabaret and Barnum, and acted in plays from Shakespeare to contemporary authors such as Henning Mankell, known for the TV police drama Wallander. Bo’s singing career involved working with the likes of Gallion Grand Orchestre and St Martin In The Fields, as well as performing at an array of London venues with her own band, including Bafta, Claridges, Landmark, Langam, Le Pont de la Tour, Ritz and Savoy. Through the musical Barnum she was introduced to circus skills and has been performing Static Trapeze, Corde Lisse and Silk Sling for the past fifteen years in conjunction with her musical engagements. In addition, Bo is a qualified and practicing Pilates Instructor.
About Harris Academy Sports Centre
Harris Academy Sports Centre is a new, recently opened facility and the classes take place in the sports hall. The centre is 5 minutes drive from Beckenham and Penge town centre and close to Bromley, Crystal Palace and Sydenham.
